By Car

Harrietville is a 4-hour drive from Melbourne. From Melbourne, take the Hume Highway to Glenrowan, at Glenrowan take the Milawa exit. Follow the signs to Myrtleford, and then follow the signs to Bright. Harrietville is 25km on from Bright towards Mt Hotham on the Great Alpine Road. Harrietville is the last town this side of Mt Hotham, so remember to check your petrol gauges before proceeding up the mountain.

By Bus or Train

V/Line operate a daily service from Melbourne to Wangaratta with coach transfers from Wangaratta to Bright. For timetable information and charges contact V/Line direct on 136 196.

During the winter, the Snowball express bus departs daily from Melbourne's Southern Cross (Spencer Street) Coach Terminal and travesl via Myrtleford, Bright & Harrietville. The scheduled bus service stops at Hoys A Frame before traveling up  to Mt Hotham. Scheduled services are provided by Trekset, phone 1300 65 65 46  for more information. (This is a winter only coach service)

Travelling from Sydney ...

Take the Hume Highway to Albury-Wodonga and follow the snow signs to Yackandandah then turn off to Myrtleford. At Myrtleford turn left onto the Great Alpine Road. Follow the signs to Bright and then on to Harrietville.
